Measuring Progress, Inspiring Action is a project called MAP AZ Dashboard that aims to improve Southern Arizona through data-driven collective civic action and education. The website provides users with indicators on the region's progress and access to the latest information and research. The project fills a gap by providing a common collection of information for evaluating the community and collaborating on shared issues. Users can compare Southern Arizona to the U.S., states in the West, and select metropolitan areas, enabling them to decide priorities, shape policies, seek funding opportunities, and drive decision-making in various sectors. The website covers 36 socio-economic indicators grouped into six categories: Economy, Education, Health & Social Well-being, Infrastructure, Quality of Place, and Workforce & Demographics. Each category includes a scorecard summarizing current performance for key indicators, as well as detailed pages for each indicator with charts, explanations, comparisons to other regions, and maps. The project is sponsored by the Community Foundation for Southern Arizona, Pima Association of Governments, Southern Arizona Leadership Council, and the University of Arizona.
